Trailheads within easy reach
The Mont Blanc tramway leaves from the Saint-Gervais station, and the Le Bettex cable car opens to walkers and mountain bikers in summer for easy access to the high trails.
A summer of hiking at the foot of Mont Blanc
Saint-Gervais-les-Bains is one of the finest gateways into the Mont Blanc massif, and an official stage town on the Tour du Mont Blanc (TMB). From the apartment, trails start right nearby: within minutes you can reach the paths climbing towards Bionnassay and its glacier, the Miage valley with its mountain torrent, or the Refuge du Nid d’Aigle, perched at 2,372 m. From easy family walks to serious high-mountain routes, there is something for every pair of legs.
Walks for every level
Families will love the gentle loops around the village, the Bonnant gorge and its Pont du Diable, or a night in a child-friendly mountain hut at the Nid d’Aigle. Experienced hikers can set off on the TMB stages and the Mont Blanc balcony trails.
- Families & beginners: village loops, the Bonnant gorge, a day walk to the Refuge de Miage.
- Keen hikers: the trail up to the Nid d’Aigle, the Mont Blanc balconies, Tour du Mont Blanc stages.
- High mountain: Bionnassay and the start of the Goûter route from the Nid d’Aigle.
The Mont Blanc tramway, a must
The Tramway du Mont-Blanc — France’s highest train, an electric cog railway — climbs from Le Fayet (580 m) up to the Nid d’Aigle (2,372 m) over 12.4 km of track, with stops at the Col de Voza and Bellevue. Its upper terminus is the start of the Goûter route, the normal climbing line up Mont Blanc. It is the easiest way to gain altitude for a high-level hike, or simply to admire the Glacier de Bionnassay with the children. In summer, the Le Bettex gondola also opens to walkers and mountain bikers, lifting you to the high trails with no effort.

Mountain biking, paragliding and outdoor fun
Beyond hiking, St Gervais offers a full spread of summer activities: mountain biking, e-biking and all-terrain scootering on waymarked routes, tandem paragliding flights taking off from Le Bettex and Mont d’Arbois facing the massif, a treetop adventure park, and swimming. Just 700 m from the apartment, the open-air pool and sports centre round out the hot days, while nearby lakes offer fishing and bathing. Our things-to-do page lists the best ideas of the season.

Wellness at the thermal baths
After the effort, Les Thermes du Mont Blanc in Le Fayet (5 km) are the place to unwind: warm pools, sauna, steam room, immersive grottoes and a waterfall set in a century-old thermal park. It is the perfect wellness break to recover after a long day on the trail, whether as a couple or as a family.
The private garden, your summer-evening HQ
Something you will not find in a hotel room: a genuine private garden with garden furniture, sun loungers and a barbecue. This is where summer evenings stretch out, in the cool mountain air, after a day on the trails. The apartment — a fully equipped 3-star, 43 m² two-bedroom flat sleeping up to 6 — has a dishwasher, a washing machine (very welcome after a hike), an oven, a microwave, WiFi, a TV and a private parking space for bikes and gear.
